• 1 … with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known …
• 2 … you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself …
• 5 … the heavens praise your wonders, LORD, your faithfulness too …
• 8 … you, LORD, are mighty, and your faithfulness surround you …
• 14 … love and faithfulness go before you …
• 33 … nor will I ever betray my faithfulness …
It appears as though God’s faithfulness is MORE SURE than the rising of the sun.
Dear one — HE — is faithful in ALL He does and HE — can be trusted — with our everything!
Do not be afraid to approach Him and tell Him EXACTLY how you feel. Then — open up the Word and read EXACTLY who He is. He’s more than words can describe but one word that does define Him well is — FAITHFULNESS!
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
11 To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen
I Peter 5
Dear one, you are NOT the only one in the midst of a battle. Our enemy wants to scare us but he CANNOT touch us.
Let’s cast EVERY care on our precious Lord, RESIST the evil one and stand firm in our faith.
• the enemy will be totally defeated
• the child of God will be welcomed home
• the will of God will be done
Mighty God, thank you for the strength and grace to stand firm in the faith. Amen
Friend, may you be FILLED with hope today and share it with others!
29 … Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” 31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him … Matthew 14
🎵 I will call upon the Lord —
🎶 Who is worthy to be praised —
🎵 So shall I be saved from my enemies —
🎶 The Lord liveth and blessed be the Rock —
🎵 And let the God of my salvation be exalted —
– Michael O’Shields
Just imagine the feelings of euphoria at the fact that our Father hears our every cry. The Psalmist declared, “I love the Lord, for he heard my voice.”
By the way, if we are allowed to have favorite Psalms, I believe this one is mine. I really like this Psalm — a lot.
Now, I like the water, but in a measure that I can handle, if you know what I mean? A 4 foot deep pool or a 300 gallon hot tub is manageable. I would not want to be dropped off in the middle of the ocean all by myself. I don’t know how far down in the water one would need to sink before their mind went into crisis mode.
I can’t think of three more appropriate words to scream than these. “Lord, save me!” It says it all.
When you feel all alone, you’re not, God is there.
When your heart is broken, and no one seems to see it, God sees it.
When you are overwhelmed with grief and heartache, and no one else seems to care, God cares.
The Psalmist had that drowning feeling. Peter had that drowning feeling. Maybe you, right now are having that drowning feeling.
Call out to him. Call upon His name. It does not have to be eloquent. It does not have to be lengthy. It need only be heartfelt and — the Lord will rescue!
The Lord will save!
The Lord will not let you down or let you drown. HALLELUJAH!
“Lord, save me!”
Friend, may you be FILLED with hope today and share it with others!
You are reading the blog and confession of a country bumpkin. Ayup. Born in Alaska and raised in northern Maine.
Back woods — they called me.
However, a recent career switch has me driving the city roads of The Big Apple. You heard it right — NEW YORK, NEW YORK. Oh, MY!
The other day this chauffeur picked up a client and the destination was JFK Airport. From the suburbs in Jersey onto some pretty busy thoroughfares. One of them being the infamous Belt Parkway.
Friend, I prayed ALL THE WAY there.
Did I mention I’ve only driven there once before? It was nighttime. Rain and fog were in the air. Oh, my!
Well, we got there in one piece, safe and sound. I dropped off my client and began the return ride. Gratitude welled up in my heart as tears flooded my eyes at the goodness of God.
prayers on the way
tears on the Belt
oh, the presence of God
I felt
praying for His leading
leaning heavy on Him
He blessed me with His presence
again and again and again
after dropping off the client
my lids leaked out the tears
returning via the Belt Parkway
I reminisced of all the years
He’s led, and blessed, and watched over me
time and time again
no, I’ll never walk alone
for the Master holds my hand
Mighty God, You are so good! Thank You for keeping ALL Your promises and thank You for keeping me. Amen
Friend, may you be FILLED with hope today and share it with others!
Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.
John 13:23
Not too sure how safe and secure I’d feel walking in and around the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Oh, it’s a well known and famous site for sure. But — is it SAFE and SECURE?
Dear one, we have a Master upon Whom we can … LEAN. And know we are SAFE and SECURE. Hallelujah and praise His Name.
Precious LORD, may we lean — evermore — in the safety and security found only in You. Amen
Friend, may you be FILLED with hope today and share it with others!
I can’t speak for you but I’m the kinda guy that needs to be shown something over and over and over again. Then, a few more times. Maybe I’m slow. But I just gotta see it more than once.
But check out THE SHOW: God’s Unfailing Love!
Now I must confess: I do NOT possess a doctorate in Wordology BUT — I’m relatively sure unfailing love means: GOD’S LOVE NEVER FAILS!
Does that mean He ALWAYS gives us what we want? Honey, THAT ain’t love!
Does that mean He ALWAYS gives us what we need? Bet you by golly, WOW!
In ways innumerable He SHOWS us His unfailing love.
It’s in His creation.
It’s in his Word.
It’s in His dealings with us.
It’s in His answers to prayer. (ALL OF THEM) Yes. No. And wait. 😀😀😀
He allows and directs circumstances and situations daily and MOMENT BY MOMENT that SHOW us His unfailing love.
Mighty God, help us to PROCLAIM: our eyes have seen the glory of Your unfailing love. Amen
Friend, may you be FILLED with hope today and share it with others!
Well over one hundred million books have been printed since the invention of the printing press. And surely many before that either etched on clay walls or written in parchments. To be sure, many an intriguing story and verse are included among them all.
But none, NONE — offers hope as does The Book of Hope, The Holy Bible!
🎶 The BI B L E
🎶 Yes that’s the Book for me
🎶 I stand alone on the Word of God

on a journey filled with broken and bleeding hearts.
Comfort eludes us while questions flood our restless soul;
but by God‘s love and grace there are brand new starts.
Speculation from the untrained eye;
perceives a life untouched and filled with ease.
But the soldier of the cross bears scores of battle scars;
that often times only the Father sees.
God never chose to answer Job’s questions;
while day after day writhing in pain.
What He did for this sojourning warrior;
was restore his life once again.
God does not always speak in affliction;
one must believe He is ever there.
Mercy and love is the language He chooses;
which is sufficient proof that He cares.
Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up.Psalm 71:20
The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it. I Thessalonians 5:24
We start — we stop.
We flip — we flop.
We’re in — we’re out.
We trust — we doubt.
We’re human and prone to hopelessness.
He’s God — He’s King
See here’s — the thing
He cannot — fail
He’ll always — prevail
He’s divine — overflowing with faithfulness
Dear one, things and people will falter and fail but JESUS NEVER FAILS. No matter what life brings our way today — our God is faithful and will do ALL He has promised in His Word.
JESUS NEVER FAILS!
Precious LORD, we are so thankful that You are EVER faithful. Amen
Friend, may you be FILLED with hope today and share it with others!
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, Philippians 3:20
I once was lost
But now am found
Glory to God
I’m homeward bound
How often have we heard:
This world is NOT our home
We’re JUST a passing through
IF it wasn’t for the LORD
WHAT, oh WHAT would we do
Dear one, buckle your seat belt. These last days are going to be interesting. But don’t focus on this PASSING world! Fix your eyes on Jesus, OUR ONLY HOPE!
We are NOT home yet. There is precious little comfort here. It’s on the other side. Our eternal reward is the King Himself! Worship Him NOW! Live with Him FOREVER!
Mighty God, our hearts long for You and all You have in store for us in your never ending kingdom. Amen
Friend, may you be FILLED with hope today and share it with others!
Dear one, some days are just down right … challenging, no? Pressure from every angle. Stress from every side. Trials and troubles and tests … YET … let’s sing it at the TOP OF OUR LUNGS:
🎶 IT IS WELL
🎵 IT IS WELL
🎶 WITH MY SOUL
With our SINS FORGIVEN and the PROMISE OF HEAVEN … it … is … well!
Precious LORD, we LOVE You and we PRAISE You for WHO You are and WHAT You’ve done for us. HALLELUJAH and AMEN
Friend, may you be FILLED with hope today and share it with others!
🎶 He made the world in all its fullness, and all that time shall bring.
🎶 My God can do anything!
Dear one, STOP your fretting, worrying, and wondering! God’s GOT THIS and God’s GOT YOU! Surrender EVERYTHING to the God who has EVERYTHING under control and ENJOY Him.
Spend some time in His Word and spend some time in His presence.
Allow God to be God and WATCH the outcome.
BLESSINGS ALL OVER YOUR DAY!
Mighty God, You ARE in control of ALL things. We need NOT fret or worry! HELP US WORSHIP AND PRAISE YOUR NAME! Amen
Friend, may you be FILLED with hope today and share with others!
When you are head over heels in ❤️❤️❤️ love with the one you love, you tell them. You show them. You tell others. You show others. You want the world to know: that you are … IN LOVE! ❤️❤️❤️
WWJD
WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?
Jesus already did what Jesus would do. He spread his arms wide, hung on the cross and showed the world how much He cared. ❤️❤️❤️
🎶 Jesus loves me this I know. For the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong. They are weak but He is strong. Yes. Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me, the Bible tells me so.
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are the children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this Hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure. I John 3:1-3 ❤️❤️❤️
Stanza two:
🎶 Do I love Jesus? Does he know? Have I ever told Him so? Jesus loves to hear me say that I love Him every day. Yes, I love Jesus. ❤️❤️❤️ Yes, I love Jesus. ❤️❤️❤️ Yes, I love Jesus, in prayer, I tell Him so.
It’s high time to stop talking about God as if He’s some grandpa down at the church whom we go pay a visit once in a while. He’s right here … right now … and He’s IN LOVE with you and with me.
Let’s relate. Let’s communicate. Let’s live and love and experience a relationship with the God of the universe. Today. Right now!
Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. Psalm 71:20
Chloe at midnight
He’s in the RESTORATION business.
God LIVES and LOVES to restore.
Taking the BROKEN, BATTERED, and tossed aside;
Bringing them to life AGAIN once more.
Mighty God, You see the weary, down trodden and forgotten … RESTORE us TODAY, we pray. Amen
Friend, may you be FILLED with HOPE today and share it with others!
Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice.
Psalm 55:16, 17
Quite possibly … NOT the BEST use of the English language … however: There is NEVER NOT a time where God is not listening to our prayers and working in our behalf.
He is our HOPE!
He is our HELP!
He is our HEALER!
He HEARS!
He CARES!
He ANSWERS our PRAYERS!
What a wonderfully comforting and reassuring piece of information that we may speak with The King ANYTIME, ANYWHERE about ANYTHING! Hallelujah!
Precious LORD, thank You so much for the PRIVILEGE and ASSURANCE of prayer. Amen
Friend, may you be FILLED with hope today and share it with others!
Faithful and absolutely trustworthy is He who is calling you [to himself for your salvation], and He will do it [He will fulfill His call by making you holy, guarding you, watching over you, and protecting you as His own]. I Thessalonians 5:24 AMP
What sets Christians apart from every other Faith and religion is: God does it/did it … not we ourselves!
HE is steadfast!
HE is trustworthy!
HE finishes what He starts and … HE … IS … FOREVER … FAITHFUL!
Precious LORD, YOU CAN BE TRUSTED because YOU ARE FAITHFUL. You not only KEEP Your promises … You KEEP Your people. Amen
Friend, may you be FILLED with HOPE today and share it with others!
We NEED mercy and we NEED our sins blotted out. BUT … LOOK who does WHAT:
We mess up.
We fail.
We fall down.
We sin.
BUT … according to your unfailing love and according to your great compassion … we are washed and we are cleansed!
Dear one, you may be in the struggle of your life right now and just can’t seem to find the strength to fight.
Let me encourage you to STOP looking at your failures and faults. Confess them to God and lay them at His feet. Surrender. Turn away from EVERYTHING that is causing you pain and grief and BASK in His unfailing love and great compassion!
OH, what a Savior!
Precious LORD, we run to You and we look to you for help and hope. You never disappoint or walk away. Amen
Friend, may you be FILLED with hope today and share it with others!
Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people. Isaiah 62:10
Precious LORD, WHAT A DAY! Death COULD NOT keep You! HALLELUJAH, Christ is RISEN! Amen
Friend, may you be FILLED with hope today and share it with others!
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
— John 15:5
The Vine
The fruit
The branch
The Root
The one true Vine
Wants every branch
To bear more fruit
Every chance
Remain in the Vine
Bear much fruit
Embrace the pruning
From head to foot
🎶 I found a new way of living. I found a new life divine. I’ve got the fruit of the Spirit. I’m abiding, abiding in the vine. Abiding in the vine, abiding in the vine: love, joy, health, peace, He has made them mine. I found prosperity, power and victory; abiding, abiding in the vine.
What EXACTLY does Christ mean by “remaining in Him?”
May 23, 1931 – May 4, 2026 (Dad of three, father to many)
Nicholas G. Fornarotto was most truly an amazing family man.
Just shy of reaching his 95th birthday, Nick Fornarotto achieved and accomplished numerous successes. But make no mistake:
He did what he did
because he was who he was.
Of his many titles— I would like to give him the following handle: Nick the Dad.
Douggers.
That is what Nick called me.
That was the nickname he picked out for me. I’m not sure why. But I liked it. And I liked when he used that moniker. He had a certain gleam in his eye when he called me that. I guess you could say: his fatherliness towards me had a profound affect on my life— more than he ever knew.
You see, when you are two years old, and your father leaves home one morning to never return, you grow up without a dad. You, your younger brother, your older brother, and three older sisters are left fatherless.
What a horrible man. Right? Who would leave a family of six children and a beautiful wife of less than seven years to never set foot through the front door again? Terrible, right?
Well, don’t be too quick to judge this man.
The Douglas C-47 he was traveling on that bleak November day was struggling. She was low on jet fuel and the weather was hampering this stressed and straining aircraft. Just moments from the Gustavus airport in Alaska, my father and three other crew members were attempting to safely land her in the midst of heavy snow and poor visibility. The initial plan was to return to Anchorage from Tacoma, Washington. But alas— the weather was neither conducive or cooperating and the C-47 crashed into a tall tree on November 23rd in 1957, many miles from home.
This terrible incident on that fateful day claimed the lives of all four crew members instantly rendering 15 children fatherless.
You never know when your last day on this planet will be.
I’m not sure if our friend Nick knew.
When my sister-in-law Karen, my wife and I visited Nick a few days ago, he didn’t seem to recognize us. But in many ways, he was still the Nick we knew and loved.
Karen bought and brought Nick his favorite milkshake and when she handed it to him, he began to slurp it down.
As we chatted it became apparent that his memory had faded dramatically.
We broached several topics before landing upon one that struck his fancy. When we mentioned the firehouse and his fellow firefighters, he quickly became more alert and responsive. From that point on in the conversation, no matter what the question was his answer was always. “Yes, they were a good group of guys.” His needle got stuck on that memory, and so we went with it.
With his permission, we read Psalm 23 and prayed a simple prayer of faith. When we left that day, we didn’t know if we would ever return.
Well, husband Nick and father Nick and grandfather Nick and great-grandfather Nick… Nick the friend and Nick the fireman is gone from this earth, but he will never be gone from our hearts.
Dear one, life is too short.
Let’s be slow to judge and quick to love.
People matter.
People are hurting.
Hurting people matter.
I came across this old hymn of the church recently written back in 1901:
Psalm 55I Peter 5:7
Young and old, churched or unchurched— in a world overrun with chaos, confusion and criticism… what’s required of us is to place our trust and our faith in Jesus Christ the Son of the living God.
One will NEVER come to know and experience the “Jesus life” without first undergoing the “Jesus Death.”
He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. Isaiah 53:3
Have this mindset: (Philippians 2:1-8)
Do nothing out of selfish ambition
Humbly value others above yourself
Look to the interests of others
Made Himself nothing
He humbled Himself
Becoming obedient to death
Even death on a cross
Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.
— Matthew 12:24
Paul desired to be like Jesus in every area of life:
I want to know Christ — yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.
— Philippians 3:10
John 15
