5 Minutes of Hope

Sharing the HOPE and encouragement we have in God.

Moving Forward After the Storm

You can only sit in the pile of ashes so long before you must make a choice. Either you’re going to sit there one more day or … it’s time to move forward.

The person who maliciously maligned you is well on their way to ruining somebody else’s life. It’s time to move forward.

The boss who fired you is already well on their way to hiring and firing somebody else. It’s time to move forward.

The tragic loss that upended you and wreaked havoc on your life … is about to pay a visit to yet another victim. It’s time to move forward.

You may sit and you may replay that horrific scene over and over and over again in your mind until you realize … it’s time to move forward.

The storm, the tragedy, the terrifying event that changed your life forever is … HOPEFULLY over. It’s time to move forward.

It doesn’t matter if it was totally your fault, partially your fault, or not your fault at all. It’s time to move forward.

We may have no say whatsoever in the grief that befalls us. However, we have quite a bit of say about how we get on with our lives once the storm has passed.

God was God BEFORE our storm!

God is God in the MIDDLE of our storm!

God will be the same loving, caring, and all-powerful God AFTER our storm.

What do you say we just take some time to worship Him RIGHT NOW and lay it all down at HIS feet?

♫ Waymaker

Miracle Worker

Promise Keeper

Light in the darkness

That is who You are!

Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

Isaiah 43:1,2

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Psalm 23:4

♫ O Rock divine, O Refuge dear, A shelter in the time of storm; Be Thou our helper ever near, A shelter in the time of storm.

Jesus is a Rock in a weary land, A shelter in the time of storm. – Vernon J. Charlesworth

♫ Till the storm passes over and the thunder sounds no more, till the clouds roll forever from the sky. Hold me fast let me stand, in the hollow of Your hand. Keep me safe till the storm passes by.

Pray.

Read.

Believe.

Worship.

Repeat.

Mighty God, we worship You no matter what because You are worthy! Praise You King!

Friend, may you be FILLED with hope today and share it with others!

You are so welcome. I’ve had to read and reread it myself several times.
      Blessings!

I totally agree, but I have benefitted from my facepalm, “Oh, that was my fault. Let’s not do that again, self” moments. Journaling about the same whiney mistakes and then rereading the idiocy was how I escaped the stupidity of my teens and twenties…at least mostly…I’m obviously still working on some things.
    Thanks for posting!

This was written coming out of a 77 day journey through the hell of depression and suffocating anxiety.
Yes, as humans, we can certainly make some poor choices. THANK GOD for mercy.
We’re hoping to publish the entire story next month in a work called “Triumphing Over The Darkness of Depression.”

      Blessings!
