Some things … you just don’t know … until you know them. Pretty profound, aye? Sorry. I’ve been crying so many tears lately I guess I needed a chuckle.
I’ve often wondered what it actually means to walk through the valley of the shadow of death. Never in my life have I been in the midst of a storm as I am at this very hour.
God alone is my hope. God alone is my help.
The verdict is still out on whether or not the cause of the storm matters. Whether it’s a mess brought on by poor choices or the calamity strikes from another source … not sure if it’s any more or less intense.
When fear strikes and you can hardly eat or sleep or think straight … THAT’S a storm.
I’ve cried. I’ve prayed. I’ve turned my eyes fully upon Jesus. I’ve asked others to pray. I am currently digging into the Word of God night and day. So far, I’ve come to a spot where all I can do is worship the King in this unbelievably dark darkness I am in.
He IS sovereign and He WILL deliver.
Dear one, if the pathway is dark and bleak and difficult … keep pressing in. Keep believing. Keep praying. Stay in the Word.
He was, is and will always be faithful and worthy of our praise.
If you are currently experiencing turbulent times … trust. Trust Him. Trust Him. He HAS not, CAN not, and NEVER will fail.
Blessings, dear reader.
Mighty God, Jesus came the first time and brought us hope. Our hope is STILL in Him and in Him alone. Amen
Friend, may be FILLED with hope today and share it with others!
Hey, Doug Dial here with two or three minutes of hope.
♫ God will make a way, where there seems to be no way.
♫ He works in ways we cannot see, He is watching over me.
♫ He will be my guide, hold me closely to His side,
♫ With love and strength, for each new day, God will make a way.
Have you ever almost lost your mind? Freak out? You know what I mean. Riding right up to the very edge of the cliffs of insanity. It feels like there is absolutely no way out. Come on now, if you’re not going to be honest, we will shut this thing down right now. And I mean it. Let’s be real. Sometimes fear grips our hearts and we are terrorized. What am I gonna do? What if I lose my job? What if my spouse leaves me? What if the doctor’s report comes back and the tests show … what if, what if, what if?
Men and women in the Bible could not hide who they were. Story after story tells us of their humanity. ALL the Bible characters in the Bible that were human were … human. More than one was found to be depressed and in despair. Hey, you cannot be rescued from a pit of despair if you’re not IN the pit of despair. Is anybody in a pit of misery and hopelessness right now? Don’t hide it. Don’t be afraid to admit it. Be honest in your confession.
The Psalmist declared: You love me so much and you placed your greatness upon me. You rescued me from the deepest place of darkness, and you have delivered me from a certain death. Psalm86:13
It sounds to me like somebody experienced what are you and I may be going through right now.
Despair. Heartache. On the brink. Desperate and in need!
Let me ask you a question.
When did God part the Red Sea? No, I’m not looking for a month and a year. But when?
When they were about a day away so the ground would be good and dry? NO!
When they were within eyesight so they could see the miracle ahead of time and wouldn’t have to fear? NO!
The enemy was breathing down their necks and they were FILLED with fear. God waited until the very last second to deliver them. So often in our desperation and in a dark, dank hole is when God comes through and saves the day!
♫ You can’t hurry God, oh no! You just have to wait.
♫ You’ve got to trust Him and give Him time, no matter how long it takes.
♫ He’s a God you can’t hurry, He’ll be there so don’t you worry.
♫ He may not come when you want Him, but He comes on time.
Rest assured and keep hoping and believing, dear one.
Our Deliverer will deliver us!
Hey, Doug Dial here with one minute of hope.
The help wanted ad read: Wanted: A delivery person. Must be able to … deliver.
I signed on. In the course of my days here below I have delivered personal hygiene and home cleaning products, corrugated boxes, home heating fuel oil, newspapers, pizza, bread, Poland Spring water and liquid propane. A delivery person … delivers.
When Mary delivered baby Jesus, she delivered a Deliverer. And HE delivers the goods.
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:32
Has the Deliverer delivered something YOU needed? YEAH! Let’s go THERE!
WHAT has He delivered TO you?
Oh, we will get to what he has delivered us FROM but let’s talk about what he has delivered TO us.
Grace. Mercy. Peace. Love. Life. Contentment. Joy. Salvation. Hope. Healing. Encouragement. Eternal life.
Oh, my Deliverer!

Get up, and don’t forget to say thank you to God for giving you another day of life! Life gives us new opportunities every day to be helpful to others, and to love them. You do not have to do anything earth-shaking exciting, or dramatic to be effective. Simply being kind, loving people on purpose, and pointing people to the hope (Jesus) can make a change in this world, our world.
I’m praying today will be full of good luck and hope for you! May everything you dreamt about last night comes true, (unless you had nightmares) Button Up!
When Christ was born, so was our hope.
The birth of Jesus is a reminder of the hope we have in God. We all need hope, and Jesus Christ and His birth in Bethlehem is our hope. This was the message delivered to the shepherds…
“For unto us is born this day in the City of David, a Savior which is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:11).
The Apostle Paul (My Favorite Apostle) describes Jesus Christ as “our hope” (1 Timothy 1:1) and “the blessed hope” (Titus 2:13). Jesus not only came to bring hope. He is our hope!!! We have hope because Jesus forgives us and changes us into His likeness!
Oh how I love Jesus
Praises to the God of my life
Mighty God, thank You for the privilege of prayer. We KNOW You hear and answer as Your children call upon Your Name. Amen
Friend, may you be FILLED with hope today and share it with others!
In the art of persuasion, he excelled, he did. It seemed as though every time a birthday or Christmas would roll around and presents were handed out, at the end of the day, my older brother Dave had a pile that was filled with much larger, shinier and newer gifts than mine. He had a way of making his THREE nickels look like SO MUCH MORE than my ONE, lonely quarter, if you know what I mean. SOME trader HE was!
Well, I met another Trader.
♫ All I had to offer Him was brokenness and strife
♫ But he made something beautiful of my life – Bill Gaither
Friend, if it seems like your life is a mess and all you have to offer Him is worthless stuff, give it to Him and watch what He does as He trades you … beauty for ashes.
Oh, WHAT a Trader!
Mighty God, no matter how small the task, when done for You, it will be blessed. Help us serve and honor You in all we do. Amen
Friend, may you be FILLED with hope today and share it with others!
When you need something solid to lean on, what is better than a rock?
Psalm 18:31 “For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God?” When David described the solid help that He got from God, he said that God was his rock. When we lean on a rock or a boulder, we know it’s not going to move. God is the same way-He is steadfast and strong, offering to hold us, if only we will lean on Him. God is the Rock of Ages, and He is not planning to fail us. Instead, He promises to protect us from our enemies, if only we will pray and ask for His help today.
