He had not been there in a while;
you could tell by his heavy load.
But he laid it all down
at the foot of the cross,
and on his way he goes.
He’s stepping higher and lighter;
got a smile and a song in his heart.
Reciting the Word of his God;
he believes it, every part.
With full assurance, Christ will never depart.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
