We lived in Arostook County for four years when my husband was stationed at Limestone AFB. I must confess that it was my least favorite place that we lived because it was so cold. And when it wasn’t cold, there were black flies to make you miserable. But God took care of us there. I got the only Spanish teaching position in the county while I was there and made some wonderful friends there. In fact, one of my good friends and her husband settled in Caribou after they retired. I love your photo of Arostook. It is beautiful and brings back fond memories of the solitude that is easily found there.
