Home at Last

Long the journey on a path uncertain;

unseen perils with every twist and turn.

Hidden dangers, wild and fierce, lie in wait.

From where I stand, it appears a straight run.

But experience tells me different.

False peaks come into view;

leading me to believe the prize is well within my grasp.

But, alas, another bend, another turn.

Another step or two.

Oh, I can see the city lights!

Why, at times, I can hear the music from that heavenly city resounding in my earthbound ears.

Hello — Today; is this the day I reach that distant shore?

Will you bring me to my desired haven?

Or will it be — Tomorrow?
