Today’s topic is: The Answer to our Why

A HOST OF QUESTIONS have WE, NO?

Why is there so much pain and heartache?

Why is there war and poverty and sickness?

Why was my loved one taken from me so soon?

Why are there SO MANY senseless acts of violence?

WHY? WHY? WHY?

THE LARGE LIE

Dear one, your heart may be breaking today and you’re finding it extremely difficult to place one foot in front of the other. One of the biggest lies ever told is that YOUR situation is hopeless. Others are gonna make it but for YOU … IT’S ALL OVER!

Balderdash!

OUR ETERNAL HOPE

There IS an answer to your WHY! There IS hope for you TODAY!

The answer to your WHY is …

Hold that thought.

Think of your most cherished relationship. Donuts to dollars it is NOT with your car or your boat! Very possibly, it is your spouse, a parent, a sibling, or a very close friend.

Let me ask you a question. When you were sick as a child and your mom walked into the room … did it matter whether she sang Patti Cake, Patti Cake or said NOTHING AT ALL? Was not her presence your comfort?

THE MYSTERY

At the ripe old age of 17 life was a mystery to me. I was in the hospital recuperating from a fractured pelvis from a car accident. How vividly I recall staring at the holes in the tiles of the ceiling crying out, “God, why am I on this planet? Why am I here?”

Whether a few hours passed or a few days, I can’t remember, but … here’s what I’ll NEVER forget:

A precious deacon from the State Street Baptist Church in Presque Isle, Maine walked into my room. Not a word of what he said, if he said anything, lingers in my mind but he handed me a Four Spiritual Laws tract. It was a little booklet that told me how God loved me and had a wonderful plan for my life. BAM! I was in! I asked Jesus to forgive me for my sins, come into my life and be my Lord and Savior.

A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP

My WHY was answered with a WHO.

I discovered that the ‘guy in the sky’ had a name.

It was revealed to me that ‘the man upstairs’ had a name.

The one some call their ‘higher power’ has a name.

His Name is Jesus Christ the Son of the living God.

WORD

… the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:26, 27

The mystery is disclosed in Him! Revealed, unveiled, divulged, made known … IN HIM!

The answer to Your WHY is a WHO!

Do you need calm in your storm? It’s in Him!

Do you need strength? It’s in Him!

Do you need comfort, guidance, stability, peace?

Do you need hope? It’s … in … Him!

Dear Father today, help us to realize that YOU are the WHO who answers our deepest WHY. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
