Resting in God’s Unfailing Love

Recent findings state that over three million new cases of RLS are reported in the United States each year. Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) is generally a long-term disorder that causes a strong urge to move your legs. There is often an unpleasant feeling in the legs that improves a little by moving them. This malady is often described as aching, tingling, or crawling in nature. Now, I’m not saying I’ve ever had full blown RLS but, I call it the heeby geebies. When your legs just HAVE to move! Yes, I have been known to twitch on occasion.

The feelings generally take place when at rest and therefore can make it hard to sleep.

Worse than restless legs or limbs though, is a restless spirit or a restless heart.

Hello friend and welcome to 5 Minutes of Hope.

Today’s topic is: Resting in His Unfailing Love

Friend, one might be tempted to say … we are living in restless times.

Restless:

anxious, disquieting, distressful, disturbing, hairy, tense, unsettling, and worrisome.

Difficult days are upon us and a bowl of popcorn with a good movie will at best, bring only a modicum of satisfaction and relief.

The antidote for this nail-biting and nerve-racking atmosphere is a healthy dose of the unfailing love of God. I said the UNFAILING LOVE OF GOD will carry us through our darkest hour.

The constant, unflagging, everlasting, inexhaustible, infallible, and … SURE love of God!

The psalmist said:

The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.

Psalm 33:5

Maybe you are struggling right now with the thought, “If God really loved me, why am I going through this horrific battle?”

Again, from the Psalms:

Rise up and help us; rescue us because of your unfailing love.

Psalm 44:26

♫ If the highest mountains turn to ashes,

If the mighty rivers should run dry

Should sun and moon grow dim,

I still will trust in him,

He’s watching from above,

I’m resting in his love.

Dear one, do you feel as though you’re on the extreme edge of a deleterious ledge and about to slip up, trip up, mess up … or … you DID mess up and now you think God has turned His back on you?

♫ Unfailing love flows from his heart and heals my soul,

In spite of who I am, he loves and makes me whole.

I almost can’t believe it’s true,

Unfailingly love and yet I know

He gave his life to give to me unfailing love. – Evie

HEAR the Psalter’s cry:

When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.

Psalm 94:18

♫ The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;

His mercies never come to an end.

They are new every morning, new every morning;

Great is your faithfulness, O Lord,

Great is your faithfulness.

– Edith McNeill

If you’re still reading this or listening, you have NOT OUTRUN or OUTSINNED the unfailing love of God. His love is UNCHANGING, UNDYING, and UNFAILING!

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:38, 39

Dear one:

STAY … in His Word!

PRAY … in His will!

LIVE … in His presence!

REST … in His love!

Mighty God, thank You for Your unfailing love. If we’ve ever needed to hear and grasp this eye-opening truth it is now. Teach us to rest in Your ever constant and unfailing love. In the matchless Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, we pray. Amen

Friend, may you be FILLED with hope today and share it with others.
