Find the largest big old barn you can find. Shut off all the lights. Board up all the windows. Seal up all the doorways. Fill in every crack that might allow a ray or two of sunshine to sneak in. Visit this dark barn on the darkest night and pump in even more darkness. Then, light a match.
The darkness WILL NOT overcome the light. Never. NEVER!
Precious LORD, there is NO darkness in You so may there be no darkness in me. Expose it and root it out, I pray. Amen

Mighty Warrior
Hey, Doug Dial here with 2 or 3 minutes of hope. I know, I KNOW! We’re just OFF the charts today! LOL!
From the first day mankind began to roam this earth until this very day there have been precious few moments of peace in our world. Wars, battles, conflicts and fighting seem to have taken up an awful lot of our time. Nation against nation. Civil wars. Battles at the kitchen table between husband and wife and … occasionally … some sibling rivalry.
Struggles. Disputes. Skirmishes. Hostilities. FIST ta cuffs.
Personally, I HATE conflict. Endured too much of it in my growing up years.
Personally, I HATE fighting. Got beat up too much in my growing up years. Kinda wish I had a big brother to either fight my battles for me or … at least protect me.
Dear one, are you in a tussle today? Does the battle rage?
Is it any wonder?
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. I Peter 5:8
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. John 10:10
That sounds like a battle to me. If you think we are engaged in a friendly game of Candyland with the devil … you might want to adjust your spectacles.

He’s the Word that commanded: “Peace be still!”
Friend, He’s … our … MIGHTY … WARRIOR!

Victory in the Name
David faced his giant.
He ran toward, not from the foe.
He had learned the secret of warfare.
He knew what we need to know.

Using someone else’s armor
is not the way to go.
It’ll never be a perfect fit;
gotta go with what you know.

David knew his Shepherd.
David knew his sling.
David knew how to fight a fight.
David knew how to sing.

Goliath taunted David,
as giants often do.
“You’re small. I’m tall. You’re going down.
I’m gonna have my way with you.”

David kept on advancing;
singing the battle song:
“The Name of the Lord is a strong tower;
with Him I can’t go wrong!”

He reached in his pouch and chose the Rock:
“This giant’s coming down!”
He slung his sling, that little thing,
and nailed him on the crown.

Our giants CAN be defeated,
EVERY single one.
Name them by name, then proclaim in the Name:
“The work of the cross is done.”

The devil was licking his chops when they drug the body of Jesus off the cross and laid Him in the tomb. He screamed “check” with glee.
But upon the first day of the week God hollered “check MATE!”
UP from the grave He arose, with a mighty triumph o’re His foes.
We have VICTORY IN JESUS because Jesus won the victory at Calvary!
