Women, Wonderful Women

Maybe I’ll never understand why so many of us boys and men have such difficulty honoring, respecting and recognizing the women in our world and their phenomenal accomplishments throughout the course of history.

When our dad died in 1957, our mom raised six of us all by herself. Why she didn’t strangle us rug rats remains a mystery.

When I first gave my heart to Jesus, the church we attended in Presque Isle, Maine was co-pastored by two wonderful women of God.

All during our Bible school years we were abundantly blessed by several powerfully anointed women of God, who faithfully and masterfully ministered the Word of God.

The Bible tells of the exploits and adventures of a plethora of kingdom women who accomplished much for God.

As we speak, there are a host of gifted speakers, teachers, evangelists, missionaries and pastors who are of the female persuasion.
Men: COME on OUTTA the Dark Ages!

History is replete with account after account of their bravery. Their fight. Their spunk. Their refusal to quit, lay down their mission and give in to the small mindedness and insults of the male figure who never realized Eve, the first woman, came from Adam’s side, not his feet.

To all the moms, daughters, sisters, aunts, grandmothers, great grandmothers and single women everywhere:
YOU are especially special.
YOU are needed.
YOU are gifted.
YOU are a treasured treasure to this earth.

Gifted greatly or simply simple … WOMAN … YOU light up our lives.

God bless each one of you women as we celebrate Women’s History Month this day and EVERY day of the year.

  1. And I just shared this with the women of my church this week. Ps 68:11 “The Lord gives the command; a great company of women proclaim it.” Nice post!

      2. But … we did arouse her anger on more than one occasion.

Gone 20 years this Easter, her.

  2. Thank you so much for this appreciation. Some people argue that women cannot pastor and people have different perspectives on that and other roles that women play.

Regardless, women are crucial. They are no less than, no less valuable, no less important and that needs to be recognized.

Many do a lot of profound behind the scenes things that do not get praise in public. And because those things were not appreciated or respected as much as what some of men do in public, some women have desire to abandon those extremely important things and do things PUBLICLY that got men respect. It’s sad. In women’s quest for recognition, many have taken on double the bird that God intended them to.

Regardless, God sees what women are doing in public and behind the scenes and he does not value women any less.

One day, the Saints will all stand before him and rewards will be given according to our works. Not according to double standards, misogyny and other problematic variables.
