5 Minutes of Hope

We were driving from Presque Isle, Maine back to Faith School of Theology in Charleston, Maine. Winter break was over and it was back to the books. A dear friend, who shall remain nameless until I name him, was driving my car as I was sitting in the backseat with my girlfriend. Yes, we were behaving. You can take THAT to the bank.

AnyWho, I said to the driver, “Merritt”, I called him that because that is his name.

“Merritt, I love you my brother!”

I said, “Merritt, you’re going to want to slow down for a very sharp curve ahead and the roads are icy and slippery.”

Hello friend and welcome to 5 Minutes of Hope.

Today’s topic is: God is in Control.

Did he listen? No

Did he slow down? No.

Did we slip and slide as he lost control of the vehicle? Yes.

Did we survive? Duh!

WHO is in control?

♫ He’s got the WHOLE world in His hands He’s got the whole WIDE world in His hands …

Be still and KNOW that I am God.

Surrender your anxiety! Be silent and stop your striving and you will see that I am God. I am the God above all the nations, and I will be exalted throughout the whole earth. Psalm 46:10

Dear one, we are living in challenging times. There are all kinds of rumors circulating as to what is going to happen in the near future.

I don’t know!

You don’t know!

God knows and our future is in the palm of His loving hands … He’s got the WHOLE world in His hands.

♫ He’s got the nation of China and Russia … in his hands.

He’s got the nation of North Korea … in His hands.

He’s got the WHOLE world in His hands!

Friend, do you know what I think we should do in this uncertain and scary time?

Let’s PRAISE the God who NEVER loses control!

Let’s WORSHIP Him who is ALWAYS in control!

Let’s PRAY like NEVER before for a genuine move of God in our hearts. In the hearts and lives of our families. PRAY for our leaders as the Word of God instructs us.

He is in COMPLETE control!

Oh, can SOMEBODY say, “Jesus, take the wheel?”

Father, we thank you that you know exactly what you are doing and what will happen tomorrow and next week. Help us to be still and KNOW YOU are God.
